These instructions apply to any files you want to upload to the wiki. These might be lesson plans, activities, etc. These should preferably be in Word format.

  1. Go to the page that you want them to be available from.
  2. Click the "Edit" button at the top right of the page.
  3. Edit the page to include the text that you want the file to be linked from, e.g. "My Lesson Plan" - if you are adding a guided reading resource you will want to include the book title first.
  4. Now select the text of your link, e.g. "My Lesson Plan"
  5. Click on the "File" button in the toolbar
  6. Click on "Upload Files" button on the "Images and Files" window that appears.
  7. Navigate to the file you are uploading, and select it. Wait a few seconds for it to be uploaded, then click on it once in the list on the left in the "Images and Files" window.
  8. Done! Don't forget to "Save" the page you are editing!

If you are not confident with any of these instructions, don't panic! Just make yourself a sandbox, by creating a new page and test out your editing ideas there first. This is far preferable to editing a main guided reading page and making a mess!

How to make a sandbox:
  1. Go to the main page
  2. Click on "Ivan's Sandbox" - now you are inside a test page so it doesn't really matter if you mess around.
  3. Click on "Edit"
  4. Add some text like "Rapunzel's Sandbox"
  5. Select that text, and click on the "Link" button - accept the defaults on the window, which are to make a new page in the wiki
  6. Click "Save"
  7. Now click on your link to your new page!
  8. You will get a message saying the page doesn't exist, and to click on the "Edit" button or link to create it...go ahead!
